Novanta Research

Privacy Policy

How information is collected and used when you browse, contact us, create an account or purchase research materials.

Effective and last updated: October 18, 2026

1. Information collected

Novanta Research collects information you provide when you create an account, place an order, enter an email in the cart, apply as an affiliate, submit a review, request product notifications, or contact us. Depending on the interaction, this includes your name, email, phone number, billing and shipping addresses, order details, messages, and affiliate application and payout details.

Account sign-in information, order and payment status, shipping tracking, communication records, and security or administrative activity are also processed to operate the service. Do not submit sensitive medical information or payment-card details through contact forms or chat.

Before redirecting to payment, we save your purchase affirmation with your email, cart items, the accepted terms version and the server-recorded time. This is a record of the declaration, not independently verified identity or qualifications. A checkout-attempt record is not automatically proof of acceptance for a completed order; linking requires a verified payment-provider reference.

2. How information is used

Information is used to administer accounts, process and fulfill orders, verify transactions, provide product documentation and customer support, maintain affiliate referrals and payouts, prevent fraud, secure the service, respond to claims, and comply with applicable legal obligations. Website usage records help us understand traffic and improve the shopping experience.

Entering an email in the cart can save that email together with cart products and subtotal before you complete a purchase. Promotional campaigns and cart reminder sending are currently paused on this website; saving a cart does not itself enroll you in a promotional SMS program.

3. Visitor tracking

Our first-party visitor analytics records page paths, the originating website of a referrer, a browser-session identifier, timestamps, and a signal used to distinguish suspected automated visits. Separate engagement records indicate active time and whether a visitor interacted. This page-view payload does not include query strings, typed form values, customer names, or email addresses.

The analytics identifier and last-activity time use browser session storage. A new analytics session is created after 30 minutes without activity. This session reset does not delete previously saved analytics records. The service and hosting providers may also process technical request information for delivery, security, and diagnostics.

4. Browser storage and cookies

Browser local storage remembers your cart, cart email, researcher confirmation, referral code, recently viewed products, and offer dismissal where applicable. Authentication uses browser storage to maintain a signed-in session. Session storage supports visitor measurement. Some interface preferences may use cookies. External payment and other linked services can use their own cookies and storage under their policies.

You can clear site cookies and browser storage through your browser settings. Doing so may sign you out, remove your saved cart and referral, or show the researcher confirmation again. Clearing browser storage does not delete information already stored in our order, account, or analytics records.

5. Affiliate referrals

When you follow a partner link containing a referral code, we save the code and its capture time in browser local storage. The current storefront recognizes the saved referral for up to 90 days and forwards a valid code during checkout. Referral clicks may record the partner identifier, landing path, referrer, timestamp, and a hashed network identifier where available.

This browser referral-recognition period is separate from the calendar-month reporting and payout schedule described in the affiliate program. Referral and order information supports attribution and commissions. Partners must disclose their commission relationship when endorsing products.

6. Email and text communications

We send relevant account, order, affiliate, and customer-service communications through service providers. Previously sent tracked campaign emails may contain a small image used to record an open and tracked links used to record a click. The existing tracking endpoints can still record interactions with these older messages even while new promotional sending is paused. Email-client privacy protections and automated link checks can make these signals inaccurate.

Use an unsubscribe link where provided, or contact support about communication preferences. Blocking remote images in your email client may prevent an open image from loading; clicking a tracked link can still register a click. Essential order or account communications may still be needed to provide requested services.

Website staff text sending, including promotional, free-form and test texts, is currently paused pending verification of consent records and opt-out handling. Providing a phone number at checkout does not authorize promotional texts. Marketing SMS requires separate appropriate consent. Mobile numbers and SMS consent records will not be sold or shared for third parties’ independent marketing; messaging vendors may receive information needed to deliver authorized messages. See the SMS provisions in our Terms & Conditions.

7. Service providers and public information

Information needed for the service is shared with providers supporting hosting, account access, data storage, payment processing, shipping, messaging, customer support, and security. Checkout is hosted by the Tagada/Vera payment platform; payment information you supply there is subject to that provider’s handling and policies. Providers may process information in the United States or other locations in which they operate.

If you use the optional assistant, your message and relevant conversation context are processed to generate a reply. Signed-in conversations may be saved to your account. Published reviews show the submitted author name and review content. The recent-order display can show purchased products and city/state information from real orders; it does not show customer names, emails, street addresses, or order numbers.

We may disclose information when required by law, to respond to lawful requests, protect rights and safety, investigate fraud, or resolve disputes. External reports, payment pages, and other websites reached through links operate under their own policies.

8. Retention and security

Account, order, communication, referral, and analytics records are retained for service operation, support, security, accounting, claims, and applicable legal requirements. Retention depends on the record and purpose; the website does not currently apply a published uniform automatic deletion period. A referral’s 90-day browser validity is not a retention limit for stored click or order records.

We use access controls and other safeguards to protect information. No website or transmission method can guarantee absolute security. Contact support promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

9. Your choices and requests

Contact support@novantaresearch.com to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, or to ask about communication preferences and privacy rights available in your jurisdiction. We may need to verify your identity before acting. Legal, accounting, security, or dispute-related obligations may require retaining some records.

The service is intended for purchasers aged 21 or older and is not directed to children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information so we can review it.

10. Updates and contact

Policy updates will be posted with an updated date. Material changes will be communicated where legally required. For privacy questions, contact Novanta Research at support@novantaresearch.com or use the contact page.
