Method

How to reconstitute, step by step

  1. Step 1

    Bring vials to room temperature

Let the lyophilized peptide and bacteriostatic water sit out for 15–20 minutes before mixing.

  2. Step 2

    Sanitize both stoppers

Wipe each rubber stopper with a fresh alcohol swab and let it air dry.

  3. Step 3

    Draw your diluent

Pull the calculated volume of bacteriostatic water into a sterile syringe.

  4. Step 4

    Add water slowly

Angle the needle so the stream runs down the inside glass wall — never directly onto the powder.

  5. Step 5

    Swirl, never shake

Roll the vial gently between your fingers until fully clear. Shaking can shear the peptide.

  6. Step 6

    Label and refrigerate

Mark the date and concentration, then store at 2–8°C and protect from light.

Conversions & storage

Quick conversions

  • 1 mg = 1,000 mcg
  • 1 mL = 100 units on a U-100 insulin syringe
  • 10 units = 0.10 mL
  • 1 lb = 0.4536 kg
  • Concentration (mg/mL) = vial strength ÷ diluent volume
  • Units to draw = (dose ÷ concentration) × 100

Storage guidance

  • Lyophilized (unmixed): stable at -20°C long term; room temp for short transit.
  • Reconstituted: 2–8°C, typically used within 28–30 days.
  • Always use bacteriostatic water for multi-draw vials; sterile water is single-use.
  • Protect from light and avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
